This is the blog of the Hill of Ward Archaeological Project, Phase 1 (so far), created and occasionally maintained by Dr Stephen Davis, UCD School of Archaeology (stephen.davis@ucd.ie). The project has been kindly funded by the Heritage Council and the Office of Public Works and relies upon the support of the local community.

In particular I would like the thank Mark and Elaine Clarke, Frances McDonagh, Pat Callaghan and Peter Sherlock who have allowed us access for surveys on their land. Also Joe Conlon, John Gilroy, Bernard Cullens, Siobhan Rheinisch and Liz McCormack for their enthusiasm for this wonderful archaeological site and for invaluable ground assistance.

Finally, I would like to acknowledge my geophysicists, Dr Chris Carey and Hannah Ventry, Susan Curran and Roy Murray for field assistance in difficult conditions and The Discovery Programme for the hire of equipment.
